Kittens : Silence Killer



I have told you that these kitten going to kill us someday. When I said kittens going kill us, most people would say "NO!!!" or maybe "those claws and fang will do nothing to us". Or "I would love to be dying in hands of these adorable creature" and that's the trap. This cat will come and cuddle with us, licking our fingers, legs and we as a human will think that this action can be considered as adorable. But what you did not notice is that cats are also the primary of the host of an infectious parasitic disease known as toxoplasmosis. Besides, when they lick, scratch or bite human, there is a high possibility that human will be infected by Bartonella henselae infection. There are tons of other dangerous infection that can be infected from cats to humans. But still, we let our kids play with this furry creature. So with this exposure, may i ask you. Can this adorable cat harms us?


Hedgehogs : Cuddling Spikes




Hedgehog or Erinaceus europaeus was named form its odd hunting methods. This animal will root through hedges and other undergrowth in hunting down small prey on their diet.  During hunt, they rely on the hearing and smell ability as their eyesight are considerably poor.

Despite of its body full of tiny knives, they are absolutely adorable. They were like begging to be cuddle. However, there also a big chance that he was just finished licked bath in his own poisonous spit. How does that happen? It was like this, hedgehogs like to do some disgusting ritual called anointing whereas they go chewing and licking any new scents that mostly poisonous that came from plants. Until their mouth starts to foam, they will then coat their spines with their poisonous spit. Could you imagine? From a lovely cuddleable spiky ball into poisonous ball of spit needles.     






Kangaroos : World Kickboxing's Champion




Kangaroo are the largest marsupials native in Australia. There are an expert jumper and a great swimmer. They live in a mob, which means a large group. Kangaroos diets’ mostly consist of grasses and can survive a very long periods without water. Kangaroos can be found in Australia, Tasmania and surrounding islands. Kangaroos live and travel in mobs and it will be dominated by the largest male in the mobs. Female will only give birth once a year and their joey or newborns weight as light as 0.03 ounces which as the weight of a lima beans. 


Lima beans that has the same weight with joey, the newborn kangaroos. 



After that, the joey will stay in its mother pouch until they are more than eight months old. Most people find kangaroos as a very cute creature and their joey are even MORE ADORABLE !  



But remember, behind cuteness, these kangaroos also notorious as a world heavy weight boxing champion in animal kingdom. With its big muscles and large leg, defeating a human won't bring a sweat. 



See that guy who tried to fight that kangaroo? He's totally got owned. So, again, DON'T EVER THINK TO MESS UP WITH KANGAROOS!


Could you see those big muscle? When it comes to you, it's not a punch but a cannon shot. 







Chimpanzee : The Joker



Pan trolglodytes or mostly known as Chimpanzeeare our closest living relative as we are sharing more than 98 percent of our genetic blueprint. Chimpanzee lives in their social communities. They can stand and walk on two legs but still they normally walk on all fours. Most of their days they would spend it on the trees including their eating. Although generally there are herbivore, but they also consume on eggs, insects and meat. Chimpanzees also one of the animals that known to be able to use tools. They use stones to smash hard nuts. 


This hairy guy also known to be capable of learning simple basic human signs. Despite of their friendly, endearing and funny behavior, these chimps also known by its brutal attack on human cases.  




Hippopotamus : Heavy Biter



Hippopotamus or its scientific name is Hippopotamus amphibious really love water which is why the Greeks called them “river horse”. These big guys would spend up to 16 hours a day just submerged in rivers and lakes in order to keep the enormous bodies cool under the hot climate of Africa. Even though in land looks quite heavy but in water, they are a very good swimmer and can even hold their breath up to 5 minutes. Although their weight around 2,268 to 3,629 kg, they can easily match a human’s speed for a short distances. So, please bear in mind not to provoke them when you are close to them, DON'T EVEN THINK OF IT. But don’t be afraid that they will chase you off and jumped over you, but beware of their great jaws. The hippo’s jaws applies 6 tons of pressure and crocodile on applies only 2 tons of pressure.

Blue Ringed Octopus : Its Lighting Show



Blue Ringed Octopus or its scientific is Hapalochlaena maculosa live in shallow marine waters and tide pools habitat and only can be found in common off the coast of Australia and the western Pacific Ocean. This octopus usually feed on crabs, fish and mollusks. It mostly active after darks and spend most of its day hidden in its nest. The size of this blue ringed octopus is 12.7 to 20 cm and it weight only around 26grams. Despite its small size, they also have charming coloring and gentle curling arms. Seeing them was like watching a fascinating lighting show. 



But don’t be deceived by it because this tiny little creature really famed with its poison. Just a bite form it can completely paralyze and kill an adult human only in minutes. More frightening, there is no known antidote for it. 

River Otter : River Wolf




River otter is a playful creature that came from weasel family. They make their home in a burrow near the water’s edge and can adapt in river, lake, swamp or any estuary ecosystems. River otters swim by pushing themselves with their powerful tails and bending their long bodies. With webbed feet, water repellent fur, it helps to keep them dry and warm. Surprisingly, they remain active during winter by using ice holes to surface and breathe and they could even hold their breath for more than eight minutes.  As we know, fish always is their favorite but they also eat turtle and crayfish. Otters love to playfully slide down snow-covered, icy and muddy hills. From there, they look really adorable. But there’s something that you need to know, these river otters also known as “the river wolf”. It is because they know not only capable of killing caiman but also as big as an Anaconda. Humans? Its easier!

Arctic Fox : The Snow Assassin




Arctic fox or its scientific name, Alopex lagopus is an extremely resistant animal that manage to survive in frigid cruel Arctic temperatures that can be as low as -50 degrees. As a crucial adaptation element to the chilly climate, these fox has furry soles, short ears and a short muzzle. Arctic foxes live in burrows and they may tunnel into the snow to create shelter during a blizzard. Arctic foxes have incredibly beautiful white or sometimes blue-gray coats that act as a very effective winter camouflage that give huge advantages during hunting as its allow these foxes to blend into the snow and ice.  With these pure white coats and its stunning light brown eyes, this animal really majestic in the Arctic.

Arctic fox usually hunt small prey like rodents and birds but during such a hard time, these foes will follow premier predators like bears to eat their leftovers.
What makes them more terrifying is that they would hunt a targeted prey for a week continuously. Could you imagine how terrifying a starving fox would be?



Cassowary : The Ancient Birds




The name cassowary came from two Papuan words, ‘Kasu’ which means horn and ‘Weri’ which means head, regarding to the prominent casque on its head.  A fully adult cassowary can stand up to 1.8 metres tall and its average weight for female is 38kg for males and 47kg for females. In the wild, their lifespan can be up to 30 to 40 years. In the wild, these birds usually shy and will avoid contact with humans but in defending their chick, male birds can be aggressive.  That’s really explained why most scientist said that cassowary is the closest species related to Velociraptors. 

Velociraptor believes to be the ancestors of the Cassowary.





Swan : Unlike Fairy Tale



Swan is the largest water birds in the world which weight between 6 to 9 kg and can grow up to 1.1 to 1.4 m. their neck is long and “S” shaped and while swimming they would either hold their neck curved or straight and they often carry their wings upraised in a hostile display. In their flight, the group of swan will either fly in line or in a “V” shape. As they were flying, they will make a bugling, trumpet whistling sounds. Most of this nomadic birds, they have no migration pattern but they will response to either rainfall or drought.  Yes, these swan looks very lovely whereas during breeding seasons, both the male and female will contribute to nest building. When they hang around together, they will touch each other heads that make as they were doing a love symbol. But what really need to know is that, most of the swans would not allow others into their territory including humans. If you still do that, believe me, these creature can turn from the loveliest animals into the most terrifying beast. 



Honey Badger : World's Most Fearless Predators





First, let me ask you what is the most fearless predator in animal kingdom? I'm pretty sure that lions, tiger or leopard would come to your mind but I afraid that I have deny you because the most fearless predators in animal kingdom is honey badger and it has already been approved by Guinness Book of World Records. Honey Badger or its scientific name, Mellivora capensis is a creature that live around the greater part of sub-Saharan Africa, through the Middle East to southern Russia, and eastwards as far as India and Nepal.
 Despite its clumsy and adorable behavior, this little beast are undisputed as they seems to be real tough.

They make scorpion as snack and their favorite feast is the cobra. Eventhough cobra is outstanding for venom, but with this honey badger, they chew this snake just like a lettuce. Apparently, honey badger becomes immune with the venom. So, what makes honey badger become this tough fearless hunter? The key to that question is that honey badger has a rubbery skin which about 1/4 inches. That's why they are like totally invincible. Even tiger would run off if they see it. Besides that, honey badger also had incredibly powerful jaws that help them to chew every single bones of their prey.




Bottlenose Dolphin : Carcass Juggler


Bottlenose dolphin, known by its charismatic and intelligent star animals in aquarium shows. They looks friendly, delightful and always been considered as best friend of human. This dolphin also can be trained to perform a complex tricks. Their size can grow up to 3 to 4.2 meter and weight up to 500 kg. These lustrous swimmers can reach the speeds of 30 kilometers per hour. Due to its expertise in echolocation, this dolphin can track their prey by sending 1,000 clicking noises that help them to be able to detect the location, size and shape of their target. That’s some awesome ability of the bottlenose dolphin. However, this dolphin also known by its violence because they been recognized to harm and kill their own offspring. Not enough with that, they also kill porpoise and play or juggle with their dead carcass just for no other reason but fun. 


Bottlenose also known to be aggressive in sexual competition, whereas in 1994 in San Paolo, Brazil, a male Bottlenose has recognized 2 males as it’s competitive and killed one of them. 





Leopard Seals : The Penguin Slapper


Leopard seals, named after its black-spotted coat is the second’s largest creature in seals family can grows up from 3 to 3.5 meters and weight up to 380 kg. By their looks, they may seems like the most adorably helpless, calm, tamed seals but always bear in mind that leopard seal is the top of the food chain in Antarctic. Powered by curiosity, this seal also known to hunt people eventhough they usually make penguins as their main dish. In 1985, Scottish explorer Gareth Wood was bitten twice on the leg when a leopard seal tried to drag him off the ice and into the sea, and in 2003 a leopard seal dragged snorkeling biologist Kirsty Brown underwater to her death.

With its sharp razor-like front teeth used to shredding meats and ability to open its mouth twice bigger than Grizzly Bear makes them a deadly predator that you wish you would never encounter in life. This seal like to wait under the ice ledges where penguins’ favorite spot. Once the little guy jumps into the water, they will snap it but makes it more disturbing is that after it catches its prey, they will slaps the unlucky penguins across the surface of the water in order to skin it before eat it.










Orca : Killer Whale

Orca looks adorably cute.
Orca or Orcinus orca is actually a part of dolphin family. That’s why they look alike with the common dolphin especially bottlenose dolphin. Most people see orca as a very adorable mammal because they usually watch these orcas doing performance. They look so loveable, friendly and playful animals as their white strip body and big smile-like mouth.

However, what they don’t know is that Orcas weren't like that at all. For centuries, Orca has brought fears among mankind. Some people call them as the wolves of the sea, killer whales, fish tiger, and killing demons. Even their scientific name, Orcinus orca, comes from the mythical Orcus; the Roman god of death and the underworld, which was also known as a punisher. In North America, the indigenous Haida call them skana, which is a killer demon. The Aleut people call them polossatik, which means "feared one". Some people might this as a joke or prank and won’t believe it but its reputation turned out to be true since this creature can grows up to 7 to 9.7 meter and weight up to 5,443 kg which almost as big as a school bus. This carnivore mammal’s feast on seals and sea lions but there’s some cases that Orca has causing human death. 

SeaWorld trainer killed by killer whale.


For example the case of a SeaWorld trainer that has been killed by Orca. They are living up by the name of killer whale not because of their size but then this Orca also feed on whales. With teeth about 4 inches long, Orca also live and hunt with their pods up to 40 individuals.  What makes Orcas as the world’s most powerful predators is that they appeared as intelligent animals and all pods use effective, cooperative hunting techniques that somehow about the same with the wolf pack. 







Long-Tailed Weasels : The Dancing Spree-Killers

Long-Tailed Weasels or also known as Mustela frenata. There is just about the same as other weasels, have slender body, small narrow head and short leg. 



What’s make them different from the other weasels is they have long tail which are about the same as half the length of its body. These weasels are carnivores and usually feed on small prey like mice and rabbit. Despite of their tiny size, Long-Tailed Weasels are being impressed by their enormous appetite due to their high metabolism which they need to eat at least 40% of its body weight every day. That’s why this weasel can’t enter any of the eating competition, because if they do, humans won’t stand for even a slightly chance.   Besides its skullcrusher technique, Long-Tailed Weasels also got their own “war dance” with the collaboration of its agility, they are truly the dancing killing-spree.
